Mr. Sakkers has been with the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission since 1997. During his first 3½ years in DG Competition he worked in the so-called Merger Task Force. At the beginning of 2001 he shifted to cartel enforcement, currently as Head of Unit within Directorate F (Cartels). Prior to joining DG Competition, between 1993 and 1997, Mr. Sakkers worked in the trade policy department of the European Commission, on anti-dumping and anti-subsidy issues. Before that, he was in-house legal counsel with KPN, the Dutch telecommunications company. Mr. Sakkers is a lawyer by education. After spending an initial year of (undergraduate) university education in the U.S., Mr. Sakkers obtained his law degree at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands in 1990, where he specialized in Dutch civil and European law. In 1991 he obtained an LLM degree in European Law from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.

Kersi F. Porbunderwalla is the Secretary General of Copenhagen Compliance®. Copenhagen Compliance supports comprehensive global oversight on Governance, Risk Management, Compliance and IT Security (GRC) issues. Copenhagen Compliance® is an independent GRC competence center, with added specialization in bribery, fraud and corruption prevention and CSR issues. Kersi is a graduate in Economics, Finance and Accounting. He is a consultant, lecturer, instructor, researcher, analyst, director and practitioner with a network of qualified associates and consultants on 4 continents.

Patricia McKinstry, JD Ethics and Compliance Advisor. Patricia McKinstry is an American/French lawyer practising in France. Formerly Senior Legal Expert with the OECD Anti-corruption Division, she specialises in business ethics, anti-corruption and compliance. A former associate with Shearman & Sterling in New York and Paris, Patricia has advised US and French multinationals on a wide range of issues in international business transactions. Formerly General Counsel responsible for the worldwide operations of Louis Vuitton Malletier, Patricia has experienced first-hand the business, regulatory and ethical challenges facing companies in today's global market place.

Christian Bergqvist is an associate professor at the University of Copenhagen. He specialises in Danish and EU competition law with a particular interest in the behaviour and regulation of dominant undertakings. His primary research areas cover classical competition law issues, including
  • The dominant undertakings' ability to price (unrestricted) and award discounts
  • The dominant undertakings' freedom choosing which competitors and customers to supply to and the stipulate the terms
  • Structural cooperation's agreements between dominant undertakings including mergers and joint ventures
Christian Bergqvist lectures on "konkurrence- og markedsføringsret" (Danish), "Markedsret", (Danish), "Videregående Konkurrenceret" (Danish) and EC Competition Law (English) and is a guidance counselor for Master thesis in all associated areas.

Hanna Danwall is the Competition Compliance Officer at Maersk Group. She has a Master in Law from King's College London, University of London and a Master of Laws, specialized in Public International Law, EC Competition law and Enforcement of EC law from Lund (Sweden) University. Hanna has extensive experience Competition law, State aid, Public Procurement and regulatory issues as well as general EU law (such as anti-dumping duties and excise duties).

Paula Davis is the Director, Compliance Programme Operations, EMEA & APAC. Paula Davis has over 20 years' experience of managing and implementing global risk and compliance solutions for large, complex and geographically diverse organisations. She heads SAI's Compliance Programme Operations team in EMEA which is responsible for the design, delivery, implementation and evaluation of global governance, risk and compliance solutions for our clients. Paula has extensive experience in both the European and North American markets and prior to joining SAI was Director of Compliance Training for a large UK-headquartered financial services organisation.
